Math Instructor

Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the following position of Math Instructor. The Math Instructor works under the direct supervision of the Dean of General Studies and Vice President of Academics and is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Math.Ìý This position will also be responsible for student advisement, and various committee assignments.Ìý This is a nine-month position requiring a total of thirty hours a week of combined classroom instruction and office hours. Summer employment and overload hours are possible. This position may require travel to additional BRTC locations.

Other Responsibilities:

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Teach students in assigned classes in accordance with the course descriptions published in the catalog, the course syllabus, and with instructional procedures agreed upon by the Dean and the VP of Academics.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Keep up-to-date in teaching field and continue professional growth through graduate courses, in-service training, community service, work experience, or other related activities.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Maintain attendance, scholastic, and other records and submit information and reports in a timely manner as required by the Dean, Registrar, or VP of Academics.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Meet classes regularly and punctually and is prepared to conduct themselves as effectively as possible.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Teach evening classes and summer classes, if needed.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Prepare to teach via CVN, Moodle, or other forms of media.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Attend divisional meetings, faculty meetings, and faculty in-service training.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Post and maintain regular office hours for advising and consulting with students

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý File all course syllabi with the Dean and the VP of Academics.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Maintain and routinely review classroom assessment measures to assure a quality academic course.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Cooperate in the development of curriculum, preparation of course outline, and the selection of textbooks, library materials, instructional materials, equipment, and supplies as appropriate.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Assist in the advising and registration process.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Assist in preparing departmental budgets and staying within those budget guidelines.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Attend graduation ceremonies unless excused by the BRTC President.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Keep the classroom in a well-maintained manner, conducive to an educational setting.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Perform other work-related responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree with eighteen (18) hours in the subject area. Preference will be given to the applicant with teaching experience at the collegiate level.
