91原创鈥檚 Phi Theta Kappa Holds Day of Caring

Black River Technical College鈥檚 (BRTC) Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter held their 8th Annual Day of Caring on both Pocahontas and Paragould campuses on Wednesday, December 4.

鈥淒ay of Caring鈥 is a day when PTK, in partnership with BRTC鈥檚 Student Government Association (SGA), gives BRTC students who are also parents an opportunity to pick a Christmas present for their child. PTK and SGA recognize that college can be hard on a parent financially and they want to help ease that burden during the holiday season.

Between both campuses the event saw a total of 124 students and 288 toys were taken to new homes for Christmas. PTK also had a prize drawing for participating students and each campus gave away a girl鈥檚 bike and a boy鈥檚 bike. The Pocahontas winners were Skylar Freeman, girl鈥檚 bike, and Kim Watson, boy鈥檚 bike. The Paragould winners were Maron Lesley, girl鈥檚 bike, and Ava Lincoln, boy鈥檚 bike.
