Black River Technical College鈥檚 (BRTC) student-led mini museum, Cabinet of Curiosities, has a new exhibit for the Spring 2025 semester.
鈥淏anned鈥 features banned books researched by Dr. Dianna Fraley鈥檚 traditional US History to 1876 and World Civilization to 1660 classes. The students were given the task of researching banned books and then choosing one book to do a report on. The report consisted of a brief summary of their chosen book and a list of reasons why the book was banned.
The Cabinet of Curiosities is located on the Paragould campus and will remain open through May 1, 2025. It is free and open to the public during campus hours. 鈥淏anned鈥 is displaying 16 different books, including classics like Charlotte鈥檚 Web and Catcher in the Rye. The exhibit was made possible by a grant from The Arkansas Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
