91原创 has signed an articulation agreement with Arkansas State University鈥檚 Dietetics program signaling ASU鈥檚 willingness to accept BRTC Dietetics students, according to Angie Caldwell, Vice President for Technical Education at BRTC.
鈥淭he purpose of this agreement is to assist students holding an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dietetics from BRTC to transition smoothly to ASU for the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science,鈥 Caldwell explained.
Through collaborative efforts, the partners desire to increase graduation rates, facilitate the transfer process and maintain a high quality working relationship between ASU and BRTC.
Under the agreement, a student who holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dietetics from听BRTC may apply for admission to the Coordinated听Program in Dietetics at ASU provided the student听meets program admission requirements. ASU agrees听to accept for transfer 22 hours of dietetics-specific听courses as well as required general education courses听into the Coordinated Program.
鈥淲ith additional basic courses, students can walk听out of our program and finish the Dietetics program听at ASU in approximately two years,鈥 noted Caldwell.
鈥淲e are excited about this collaboration with ASU听and the opportunity it provides our students.鈥澨齌he agreement will be subject to annual review听by both ASU and BRTC, or in the event there are听changes to the curriculum at either institution. Both听schools also agree to recognize and promote the听agreement with prospective transfer students.
Signing the agreement in addition to Caldwell听from BRTC were Tina Harris, Dietetics Program听Director, and Dr. Wayne Hatcher, President. Signing听from ASU were Pam Towery, Dietetics Program听Director; Dr. Susan Hanrahan, Dean, College of听Nursing and Health Professions; Glen Jones, Interim听Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost; and G. 听Daniel Howard, Chancellor.
